Since the early days of 32 Bar Blues, one of our favorite artisan potters has been handcrafting beautiful candle cups, mugs and whiskey tumblers for us in her Oceanside studio. As a touching gesture in support of our nonprofit 32 Bar Blues Foundation efforts, she has created a limited-edition tumbler for us.
Each cup is wheel-thrown, hand-detailed, and double-fired through a meticulous multi-step process. The durable, swirl-toned clay gets its cool color from contrasting materials – rich in manganese and iron. Interiors are glazed for luster while the exteriors are left unglazed to expose the raw beauty of the clay. To keep things in tune, our musical signature eighth-note is stamped near the base and our Foundation logo is screened on the bottom. After the second firing, the cups are smooth-sanded for a rustic hand-feel. Variations in swirl patterns are part of their handmade character. Exclusively crafted for us in California. Approximately 3 ½” diam., 3 ¼” h. (10 oz.)
As part of 32 Bar Blues’ founding mission to support the arts, the proceeds we receive from the sales of these tumblers will go toward building new arts partnerships and will be dispersed among our current nonprofit arts partners listed under THE ARTS.
