Product Description
Special Advance Copies Available Now (Before Our Holiday Collection Arrives in Early November)
The blues – in its form, vocabulary, and spirit – is an intrinsic, foundational element of jazz. As the music has developed across the past century-plus, we have encountered manifestations of these roots in every imaginable style, from Dixieland to the avant-garde. Hank O’Neal’s Chiaroscuro Records catalog has long reflected the centrality of the blues in the jazz idiom, and its kaleidoscopic expression in the hands of different interpreters. All Blues collects 15 instrumental blues tracks dating from 1971 to 2003, and featuring a host of jazz legends like Clark Terry, Junior Mance, Mary Lou Williams, Earl Hines, Jay McShann, Zoot Sims, Lillette Jenkins, Milt Hinton, and more.
Through a partnership between 32 Bar Blues, The Jazz Foundation of America, and Chiaroscuro Records, we’re excited to offer this anthology of classic and original blues on Compact Disc. (Special blue vinyl 2-LP Set will be available in early November.) 100% of the profits we receive from the All Blues CDs, Vinyl and T-shirt sales – along with the other items in our special JFA online section – will go directly to the Jazz Foundation's Musicians’ Emergency Fund.
